Been very unwell this week
This week, I’ve been very unwell. My Daddy has written the following as a diary:
Monday 23rd October 2006
12.00 Noticed temperature was a little higher than normal to touch
13.00 High temperature – gave Calpol
18.00 Restless and irritable in bed, gave Calpol
Tuesday 24th October 2006
01.00 Waking up crying, very high temperature – head gauge showing 39-40 – Calpol
05.00 Nurophen for children – 39-40 degrees
09.00 Temperature subsided, feeling better in himself
10.30 Dr Kumar, North Camp surgery checked him over, said it was a virus, and give Nurophen if temperature rises
14.00 Nurophen given – temperature high
17.00 Dr Kumar referred us to FPH
18.00 FPH administered Calpol & Nurophen
19.00 Temperature subsided
21.30 Urine sample – negative, noticed slight swelling in ear canal
Wednesday 25th October 2006
08.00 Irritable, but temperature under control with Nurophen
12.00 Taken out of nursery today due to being very huggy and crying a lot
17.00 Cried most of the afternoon, very unhappy
20.00 Administered Nurophen and Calpol to keep temperature down
Thursday 26th October 2006
01.00 Woke up, temperature started dropping
05.00 Woke up, temperature had dropped
09.00 Very unhappy today, needed attention all day, however had no temperature, something was bothering him.
17.00 Dr Kumar spotted inflammation in his ear, gave him Amoxicillan 125mg.
19.00 Had first dosage, but spat most of it out
22.00 Eventually dropped off to sleep, no temperature
Friday 27th October 2006
03.00 Woke up crying – no temperature
07.00 Bit irritable in the morning – spat most of medicine out
13.30 Had full dosage of medicine – he likes it now.
15.00 Noticed temperature a little higher
19.00 Administered 3rd dosage – took the full 5ml again.
21.00 Woke up crying twice – noticed rash on skin. Little red spots, clustered behind ears, along neck line, down back and on chest and face, not on limbs.
21.45 NHS Direct to call back
22.00 Asleep, but very restless
Saturday 28th October 2006
01.00 NHS Direct Nurse called back – William awake crying at that point. Nurse advised not to take anymore Amoxicillan and to contact emergency doctor in the morning.
04.00 Woke up crying again, noticed that rash was still there and it was irritating him a little.
07.00 Woke up very irritable, scratching skin.
09.00 Contacted Frimley Medical Centre and got appointment to see Doctor. Bathed William which relaxed him a little – still very irritable and not himself.
